Facebook Will Allow You To Edit Comments – It’s About Time [Updates]

Posted on | June 25, 2012 | No Comments

Facebook users can finally fix a dumb typo or change something they said that may have been a little too rude in a comment. That’s right; after all this time, Facebook has finally implemented the ability to edit comments. Now, when a friend posts a picture and you accident type ” “ instead of “,” you can jump in and fix it.

Before this Facebook update, if you wanted to edit a comment on Facebook you would have to click the “X” next to comments and delete it. Then, you could go back and post your comment again typed correctly. This was a major pain, and it caused the people receiving the comments to receive double the notifications.

To use this new comment editing feature, simply click the pencil all the way to the right of the comment and then click on “edit.” From here you will be able to make the proper changes to your comment and send it back into the world.

Of course, there needs to be some accountability. After all, if you were arguing with someone on Facebook and you lost, you can change your comments and make them look pretty dumb. To compensate for this, Facebook has an “Edited” button that lets everyone know the post has been changed.

If you click the “Edited” button you can see the revision history, so even though your embarrassing comment is not shown right in everyone’s face, it is still there if they want to look.
